Rwandan artist Lil P has been nominated for the BAFTA Awards in England

 

NDUWAYO Papias ‘Lil P’ - a UK based Rwandan music rapper- has been nominated in the upcoming BEFFTA Awards 2010 in England.  The young talented rapper was nominated in the ‘Best new African/UK artist’ category.

 

 The BEFFTA awards are in recognition of talented upcoming artists in the different entertainment genres such as music, films, dances; to mention but a few. This year, the BEFFTA awards are scheduled to take place on 31st, November, 2010 in London, U.K.Lil P rose to fame early this year when he released his most popular song ‘Black Mona Lisa’ which helped him to earn a nomination. Since his arrival in England, his songs have enjoyed superb airplay on radios, televisions and major music shows in London. 

Lil P also assured his fans that he is in advanced plans of officially launching his album late this year and will be accompanied with the release of his own signatory clothing line that he has yet to call a name.

  

                

   Nduwayo Papias ‘Lil P’



The Rwandan hip hop artist NDUWAYO Papias was born in January, 10th, 1990 here in Rwanda and studied his primary school at La Colombiere in Kigali. He went to England aged 12, where he studied his secondary school and later started his music career.

Lil P, in 2005, started writing songs but had not decided to go professional career. The following year, after identifying his extreme talents, friends and family encouraged him to join the music industry and the rest as they say, is history.

2010 is the year he got so unbelievably lucky when he got funds from world music heavyweights; Jay-Z and Akon, and immediately released his first album ‘Musi-cation”.  Then, he went on UK tour performing in big concerts in England, Scotland, Ireland and other European countries.

 


A week after the release of this Album, it received massive airplay and he sold 400 C.Ds hence propelling him to stardom. Lil P is now in studio recording his second album that will hit streets next year.

It will contain songs such as “Put ‘em up”, that’s receiving growing reviews on English radio stations such as BBC and many others.


Lil P recently announced plans of holding a concert in Rwanda early next year after the release of his second album.

Lil P currently lives in Birmingham, on the suburbs of London, the capital city of England.
