Rwanda and China Strengthen Ties with New Agreement |

The governments of Rwanda and the Republic of China signed an economic and technical cooperation agreement on 24th December 2010 to further strengthen development in Rwanda. The agreement was signed at the Ministry of Foreign affairs in Kigali, Rwanda was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Foreign affairs ministry Amb. Eugene Munyakayanza and Li Yigang represented the Chinese embassy as Charge d’affaires.

Since 6 to 11 February 2011, Dakar hosted the 11th edition of the WSF (World Social Forum), the largest gathering of anti- globalization movements. The first forum of this kind was held in Brazil in 2001 and organized at the same time with the World Economic Forum in Davos, marking the birth of the global justice movement.

Rwandese resident in Canada celebrated the 16th Liberation Day in a colorful ceremony held in Ottawa, that were graced by the Rwandese High Commissioner to Canada, Edda Mukabagwiza, and several other Rwandese resident in various parts of Canada.

Diaspora youth to convene in London |
|
Rwandan Diaspora youth living in Europe will from July 17 – 22 convene at St Edmund, Suffolk in London, United Kingdom, to discuss the challenges and share experiences on the country’s development.
This is the second national youth camp (Itorero Ry’Igihugu). The first took place last year in Belgium and was attended by over 100 youth from across Europe.

Ecobank launches rapid money transfer |

Ecobank Rwanda has introduced a new system of transferring money dubbed “Rapid Transfer”, linking it to other branches on Ecobank Group across Africa.
The product will facilitate funds transfer across all the 29 countries where Ecobank has its presence.
